The 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe stands out as America’s top-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle, combining performance and an impressive all-electric range of up to 21 miles while retaining its legendary off-road capabilities, especially in the Rubicon versions. What sets it apart is its unique position in the market, with no direct PHEV SUV competitors, unlike the Ford Bronco. Starting at $49,995, the Wrangler 4xe offers various trims, with non-hybrid variants being roughly $10,000 cheaper. Potential tax incentives may help offset the cost.

The 2024 model introduces aesthetic and technological updates, including a refreshed grille and an upgraded 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Built-in off-road adventure guides simplify trip planning. Under the hood, the Wrangler 4xe boasts a robust 375-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers lively acceleration, making it more enjoyable to drive than its non-hybrid counterparts. It also sees improvements in comfort, refinement, and off-road performance.

The Wrangler 4xe offers an all-electric range of 21 miles and achieves 20 mpg when the battery is depleted. Inside, the modernized interior includes a backlit touchscreen and tested-for-water-fording power-adjustable front seats. It offers ample interior space and cargo room.  Exterior updates include a refreshed grille, and its power comes from a potent turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine combined with two electric motors. Charging takes about 12 hours with a standard outlet or 2 hours with a Level 2 charger.

The 2024 Wrangler 4xe introduces standard safety features, enhancing its appeal for safety-conscious buyers.
