The 2024 Nissan Altima is a practical choice for daily commuting, offering affordability, ample standard safety features, and decent passenger and cargo space. However, it falls short in terms of excitement and distinctive qualities.

The 2024 model builds upon the improvements introduced in 2023, with standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 and a sizable 12.3-inch infotainment screen. It also boasts an appealing exterior design and a history of good fuel efficiency. Notably, it offers all-wheel drive, a rarity among midsize sedans.

Despite these positives, the Altima lags behind competitors in certain areas. Its interior doesn’t match the premium feel of rivals, and some tech features feel outdated. Ride comfort and refinement are average, and it lacks an engaging driving experience, even with the more powerful and expensive turbocharged 2.0-liter engine option.

Nevertheless, the 2024 Altima remains a sensible choice for daily transportation due to its competitive pricing, user-friendly interface, and spacious interior. While it’s a practical midsize sedan, keep in mind that rivals like the Subaru Legacy, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Volkswagen Arteon offer more comfortable rides and standout features. The only change for 2024 is an extension of the free trial period for NissanConnect mobile services from six months to three years.
